Tonight’s GSFWC meeting will once again be at Waxy O’Connor’s on West George St at 8pm.

Moving out…or at least around

•June 30, 2008 • Leave a Comment

From July onwards GSFWC is leaving the Glasgow Film Theatre and searching for a new home.

It might take a wee while before we settle down again, so in the meantime anyone considering popping along on spec should watch this space.

For the next meeting on Tuesday July 1st, we will be meeting in the McTurk room of Waxy O’Connor’s. It’s on West George Street in between Buchanan St subway and Queen St station. Big flaming torches outside, looks like a cross between Hobbiton and an Escher nightmare inside, you can’t miss it.

For anyone who was contemplating dropping in to tonight’s GSFWC session, please be aware that the meeting has moved from GFT to the Hengler’s Circus (Wetherspoon’s) pub on Sauchiehall St.

It’s still 8pm though.

Email worries

•February 4, 2008 • Leave a Comment

We’re hearing reports that emails to out address are getting partially bounced. In other words, people think they’re not getting through, but they do – sometimes – sort of. In order to rectify this we’ve changed our forwarding.

So, if you’ve tried unsuccessfully to email us, please try again.

Fingers crossed.

It’s almost time for WordDogs to be unleashed yet again. Our closely affiliated spoken word compadres will be unleashing stories of division and difference, in their inimitable thoughtful, scary and distinctly oddball stylee on Glasgow’s famous 13th Note Cafe .

Staring down the mic this time will be: Richard Mosses, Phil Raines, Martin Belk, Ian Hunter, Mark Harding, Neil Williamson, Hal Duncan and Gavin Inglis.

The date is Wednesday 6th February. The time is 7.30 pm, and the cost will be a few squid plus your kind indulgence. Beer is mandatory.

The reviews are good.
